We price certification as fixed-fee audit programmes, with duration determined per IAF MD5. A fee pays for an audit — never for an outcome.
We quote a fixed fee for a defined audit programme across the three-year certification cycle. The fee is based on audit duration, which we calculate per IAF MD5 and any scheme-specific rules — driven by your effective headcount (including shifts and part-time), number and location of sites, scope and complexity, and delivery mode.
A programme fee covers the planned audit activity and the certification decision:
Recertification at year three is quoted for the next cycle.
This is the important part. A fee pays for the audit and the assessment of evidence — it does not buy a certificate. Certification is granted only where the evidence supports conformity, by a decision-maker independent of the audit team. No part of any fee is contingent on the outcome, and paying more never changes a decision.
Activities outside the planned programme are quoted separately — for example scope extensions, transfers, follow-up audits after a nonconformity, or short-notice audits to investigate a complaint. Where extra audit time is needed, we tell you why and quote before proceeding.
Payment terms, accepted currencies and any applicable taxes are set out in your quotation and certification agreement. Fees are payable for the audit work performed regardless of the certification decision — because the decision follows the evidence, not the invoice.
If you transfer a valid, accredited certificate to us under IAF MD2, we review your current certification before quoting, and size the programme to your remaining cycle.
